I propose to make a series of photographs focusing on how light effects objects and how they are perceived, specicifally surface materiality. The photo series will act as a considered invesitigation into material finishes and how light can change the visual quality of chosen swatches and samples.

Design Proposal:
My intention for this project, hand-in 1 of DSDN Photography, was to explore "Space" in particular interior space and investigate atmosphere in within space. As an interior student, interior space is of greatest interest to me with-in the field of design. This is why i chose to explore the spacial aesthetics of a fabric store, and investigate how the inhabitants in the space (the rolls of fabric) had influenced the interior fir-out. Using the medium of photography for this investigation was incredibly useful. as it allowed me to appreciate visual lines that were not immediately apparent to the naked eye. The camera captured the spacial quality of the fabric store, recording the varying levels of natural and artificial light and showing casing their effects on the colourful space.
